Wheatgrass are the leaves of the Triticum aestivum, otherwise known as the wheat plant. This grass has been cultivated and used by humans for over 5,000 years. It is native to Egypt and India. It was first cultivated in the Western world in the 1930s and 40s. 

Wheatgrass is used medicinally, and in cooking. It can be blended into any number of drinks. It may be used when making cocktails, soups, dips, and desserts. Wheatgrass can be juiced. It's medicinal benefits include: aiding in digestion, reducing bloating and detoxifying the body. This grass is also often used in Ayurvedic Medicine. It contains anti-oxidants, and is believed to be anti-inflammatory.
