Ant oil is from Pakistan. It gets its name from the Latin word for ant, which is ‘formica’. Ant oil is made from an acid present in the body of an ant. When the ant is surprised, and, defending itself, it releases this special acid from its body. This acid is collected and sold.
It is often used as a hair product. It is also good for making leather and rubber products.
Ant oil smells like vinegar.
