Coconut oil is produced by the fermentation and melting of the coconut palm fruit. It is used as an ingredient in cooking and baking.
A true coconut oil smell is faint and should smell like freshly cracked coconut. The only oil that has been heated to a minimum of 115 degrees Fahrenheit will retain its nutrients. Coconut oil has a neutral taste when used in cooking or on its own.
