Jasmine Tea- This extraordinary tea, with its delicate floral base, was first produced in China over 1000 years ago. Jasmine tea can only be cultivated in special conditions for a few months out of the year. It is made by scenting tea leaves with the aroma of Jasmine flower blossoms. To ensure peak flavour, the buds are hand picked in the early afternoon, when it is sunny, and hot.
Jasmine tea became a valuable trading item by the early 20th century. Since it is made by scenting tea leaves, Jasmine tea has varying bases, such as black tea, or green tea.
It was a tradition in China to serve Jasmine tea to guests.
