Dried shallot

Shallots originated in Asia. They traveled to India and the eastern Mediterranean. Dried shallot is a more subtle and sweet tasting component. It can be used as a vegetable or a condiment.  Dried shallot has a more sweet flavor compared to the onions. They are great use in raw applications where you want an oniony flavor without too much punch.
