Earthy Blend
A grounding blend of vetiver, myrrh and frankincense. It smells like damp earth and old incense smoke: dark, rooty vetiver, the bittersweet resin of myrrh, and the dry pine-and-citrus lift of frankincense over the top.
Vetiver gives the complex, woody foundation, myrrh a warm and slightly spicy depth, and frankincense a woody, spicy, faintly citrusy top note. All three have long been associated with meditative and ceremonial traditions.
How to use it
Diffuse 3 to 5 drops during meditation or quiet reflection, or dilute to 1 to 2% in a carrier oil for anointing and massage. It also works in skincare formulations where a warm, resinous scent is wanted. Technique tip: vetiver is thick and slow-pouring, so warm the bottle in your hand for a minute before dispensing, and let a diffused blend run for ten minutes before judging it, since the resins take time to fill a room.
