Garlic Flakes - Originally from Central Asia and Iran, garlic is related to onions, shallots, leeks and chives. The name garlic means ‘spear shaped leek’, and it has been cultivated by Mesopotamians for around 4,000 years.
It can be used in soups, sauces, and stews and is also used in marinades. It can also be used to season many different dishes. Medicinally, it has been used in folk medicine in Egypt, Japan, China, Rome, and Greece. Garlic powder or garlic flakes may be used in cooking instead of fresh garlic, but they do not have the same texture.
Garlic flakes smell spicy, and pungent.
