How to use it
Crack one or two dried fruits and simmer them in about two cups of water for fifteen to twenty minutes, then strain. The fruit can also be ground to a coarse powder and combined in equal parts with amla and baheda for a home-blended triphala. The taste is strongly astringent, so it is usually taken in small quantities with warm water. Technique tip: prise out the hard central stone before grinding, since it will blunt a spice grinder and adds nothing to the powder.
