Jasmine Oil

Jasmine Oil is extracted from the flowers of Jasminum officinale. It smells intensely sweet and floral with a warm, heady depth underneath, the scent of a jasmine hedge on a hot night rather than the light note of the dried flower.

It is obtained through solvent extraction, which captures the heavier floral compounds that steam would drive off. Benzyl acetate, linalool and jasmone give the oil its character. Jasmine is often called the king of oils, and carries associations with purity, love and feminine allure across various cultures.

How to use it

Use it in perfumery and body care, in skincare products, in massage oil blends and in a diffuser. It blends with Rose, Sandalwood, Bergamot and other citrus oils, as well as Frankincense and Patchouli. Technique tip: use it sparingly, a drop or two, since jasmine carries a long way and will smother lighter oils in a blend.
