Jujubes are native to Southern Asia, but are popular around the world. Jujubes are small round fruit that when dried have a chewy texture and sweet taste similar to dates.
Due to their high fiber content and low calorie count, jujubes make an excellent, healthy snack when fresh. When dried they are a great energy booster as it contains carbs in the form of natural sugar concentrated during the drying process.
Fresh Jujubes can be used in place of apples in many recipes and the dried jujubes can be used in place of raisins and dates.
