Refreshing Blend

This blend is rosemary, lemon and basil oils together. Rosemary leads with a fresh, herbaceous, pine-like note, lemon cuts through it with a bright, zesty citrus lift, and basil rounds the mix with a sweet, green herbal warmth. The overall aroma is crisp and clean, more like a herb garden after rain than like a citrus cleaner.

The three oils sit in balance: herbaceous, zesty and sweet-green, with none of them dominating for long.

How to use it

Add four or five drops to a diffuser in a workspace or kitchen, or dilute at about 2%, roughly 12 drops in 30ml of carrier oil, and apply to the temples and wrists as a fragrance. It can also go into home-made natural cleaning solutions for a fresh scent. The technique tip: lemon oil is phototoxic on skin, so keep diluted skin applications for the evening or for areas that stay covered, and use it in cleaning sprays where sunlight is not a factor. Shake any water-based spray before each use, since the oils will separate. For external aromatic use only.
