Respiratory & Refreshing Blend

This blend brings five oils together: peppermint, tea tree, eucalyptus, rosemary and lemon. Peppermint opens cool and minty, tea tree adds a clean, sharp note, eucalyptus a sharp camphoraceous edge, rosemary a dry herbaceous middle and lemon a zesty top. The aroma is crisp and bracing, the smell of cold air rather than of anything sweet.

It is a sharper, more layered version of a simple mint and eucalyptus mix, with the rosemary giving it a herbal spine and the lemon a lift.

How to use it

Add three or four drops to a diffuser to freshen a room, or dilute with a carrier oil at about 2%, roughly 12 drops in 30ml, and use it as a fragrance across the chest and shoulders. It also works in home-made natural cleaning solutions. The technique tip: keep it out of small enclosed spaces at high doses, since peppermint and eucalyptus together are strong; three drops in a bedroom diffuser goes further than six. This blend contains lemon oil. This oil is photosensitising, so keep treated skin out of direct sunlight for twelve hours, or diffuse instead. For external aromatic use only; dilute in a carrier oil before skin use.
