Seekh Kebab Spice

Seekh Kebab Spice Mix carries the bold, savoury flavours behind one of South Asia's best-known grilled dishes. It balances warmth, heat and spice, with sumac giving a tang that cuts the richness of minced meat and cayenne supplying the heat.

The mix combines allspice, cayenne pepper, black pepper, sumac, nutmeg and paprika, each contributing depth and character. The result seasons minced beef, lamb or chicken into juicy kebabs with a rich, smoky aroma and a balanced heat.

How to use it

Use it for traditional skewered kebabs or pan-grilled patties: simply mix with meat, onions and herbs for a quick meal. Allow two tablespoons per kilo of minced meat. The technique tip: squeeze the grated onion dry in a cloth before it goes in. Onion water is the usual reason seekh kebabs slide off the skewer, and a drier mix, chilled for an hour and pressed firmly around the metal, holds its shape over the grill and chars properly at the edges.

The shaker jar

The jar option is packed in a clear 8 oz shaker jar made from lightweight, food-safe PET, so the colour and texture of the blend are visible at a glance. The flip-top cap opens to a three-hole sifter for an even sprinkle straight over the pan, the grill or the plate, and closes again with a simple press. A pressure-sensitive liner seals the jar until first use, and the fitted cap keeps the blend fresh between uses. When a recipe calls for a measured spoonful, simply unscrew the cap; the wide mouth takes a teaspoon with ease. Once empty, the jar is easy to refill with your next Ameen blend and makes a practical home for dried herbs, chilli flakes, sesame seeds or homemade rubs. Hand wash only.
