Simmer a teaspoon of the cut bark in a cup of water for ten to fifteen minutes and strain, or grind it to a fine powder and mix it with rose water or plain water into a smooth paste for external use as a face pack, rinsed off with plain water once dry. Keep the bark pieces sealed and dry. Technique tip: soak the bark for half an hour before simmering, since dense bark gives up very little in a short boil from dry.
