Ouzi Spice - Ouzi spice is from the Middle East. The spice and the dish that was named after it, were quite popular in the Persian Gulf and considered an Iraqi national dish. The Ouzi spice was introduced into Turkey by immigrants from Syria.
The spice is used in a dish called Ouzi, or Quzi. It is made of lamb, roasted nuts, raisins, and rice. There are many variations of this dish all over the Middle East and depending on the way it is cooked, it may have more of a smoky flavour.
