Saad oil is cold pressed from the tubers of the cyperus esculentus plant. This plant is found in Southern Europe, Africa, Middle East, as well as the Indian Subcontinent.

Evidence of cultivation of the cyperus esculentus plant has been found in Egypt dating back to around 16,000 BC, suggesting our predecessor were aware of the healing properties of this plant for millennia's.
