Senna Pods

Ameen Foods Senna Pods are supplied as whole dried pods with a light brown colour and a smooth, dry surface. This product offers the pod form, separate from senna leaves and ground senna products.

Senna pods are the flat, oblong fruit of the senna shrub, a small plant of the pea family. The dried pods are light brown, thin and papery, usually a few centimetres long, and each one holds a row of small flat seeds that rattle slightly when shaken. The scent is faint and dry rather than aromatic.

The pod is sold under several names, including senna fruit, senna pod, Alexandrian senna pods and Tinnevelly senna pods. It is a different part of the plant from the leaf, and the two are sold as separate products, so check that the form matches what you want before you order. The pods in this listing are whole, not cut, sifted or powdered.
