Thyme Oil

Ameen Foods Thyme Oil has a strong herbal aroma with spicy, earthy notes. It is distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of Thymus vulgaris and is supplied for external aromatic use.

Aromatic profile

Thyme brings a pronounced herbal character to fragrance blends. It pairs aromatically with lavender, rosemary, lemon and bergamot, allowing you to build a fresh herbal scent or a warmer, more rounded blend.

The aroma of thyme oil is intense, warm and herbal, with a spicy, earthy edge and a hint of sweetness. It is the concentrated scent of common thyme, the familiar kitchen herb, and a little goes a long way. Perfumers and blenders use it to add a green, herbal heart to woody, citrus and lavender blends, and to bring a crisp, savoury note to herbal compositions.

Thyme oil is best measured by the drop. Add it last to a blend, smell it as you build, and keep the proportion low so that it supports the other oils rather than overpowering them. It is supplied as an aromatic oil for external use, not as a cooking ingredient.
